JCI Limerick is delighted to present the Global Village Festival, a celebration of the cultures, communities and stories that make Limerick such a diverse and welcoming city.

On Saturday, 25 October 2026, from 11 AM to 4 PM, Wickham Way in Limerick City will become a meeting place for people from different backgrounds to come together, share their cultures and celebrate what connects us.

The idea behind the Global Village Festival comes from something that exists across cultures: community.

Around the world, people gather with family, friends and neighbours to celebrate through food, music, traditions, stories and shared experiences. The festival brings that same spirit to Limerick, creating a space where different communities can meet, learn from one another and celebrate the diversity of our city.

The Global Village Festival will bring together international and local communities through cultural experiences, community activities, food, music and opportunities to connect.

What to expect

Community Booths

Discover different cultures through the people and communities that call Limerick home. Community groups and international communities will have the opportunity to share their traditions, stories, activities and experiences with visitors.

The Marketplace

Explore local businesses and discover food, products and services connected to the many cultures represented in our community. The marketplace will provide an opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase what they have to offer.

The Main Stage

Experience a programme of cultural performances, music and entertainment celebrating the diversity of the communities participating in the festival.

The festival has three central goals.

Promote Cultural Exchange

Create opportunities for people to discover something new about another culture and learn directly from the communities that represent it.

Break Social Barriers

Create connections between people from different backgrounds and encourage greater understanding, interaction and unity within the community.

Provide a Platform for International and Migrant Communities

Highlight the diversity of Limerick and provide a space for international and migrant communities to share their culture, stories, talents and contributions.

The Global Village Festival is not about simply looking at different cultures from the outside. It is about creating opportunities to meet the people behind those cultures, have conversations, share experiences and build connections.

Limerick is home to people from many different countries and backgrounds. Together, these communities contribute to the character, energy and identity of the city.

This festival is an invitation to bring those communities together.
